Beetles are members of the Order Coleoptera, which means ‘covered wings’.This is because their forewings are adapted into hard coverings that usually cover the whole of the abdomen & protect the delicate hind wings underneath
This week is @insectweek #niw2020 - this is my Insectabet created a few years ago. Insects come in millions of species, shapes and colours - their diversity is astounding! My favourite is a Devil's Coach Horse (not actually pictured here) followed by a Shield Bug. What's yours?
