With Odette I wanted a zombie character. And the parallels of her being “undead” with holy powers that would hurt her seemed kind of funny. But then I thought about safe points in video games and how it was weird that there was always some person always there to “record progress”

I don't think enough people give the Cuphead Show credit for taking a literal STAGE HAZARD enemy from the Devil's final phase and turning him into a full blown genuinely funny character. Like just. Props to them.
