この絵は『ジュニアそれいゆ』に連載されていた「名作絵物語」シリーズの一つ、昭和29(1954)年10月号に掲載された「赤毛のアン」のタイトル絵。村岡花子訳で日本に初めてこの物語が出版されてから2年後、淳一はこの連載にも「赤毛のアン」を登場させました。#中原淳一
