It’s funny now to look back on when I played with line-less/minimal line art styles, given how almost integral linework is to my work now. still like dabbling in it, but it’s a lot more rare than when I was trying to post on insta 3 or 4 times a week to appease algorithm lmao

I start rendering before even finishing the linework I think that says a lot 😭

My approach was to let colors collide and with that create depth, instead of making a strong linework, but having the most important part be contrasting with that organic feeling.

@debaron589 It depends. I find I think best with a pencil in my hand but I have a fair amount of muscle memory built up with the Intuos. I have the best digital linework results with a medium neutral tone set to multiply so I can build it up but I keep trying new things.

#Shikillust Lucifer Shiki. Tried drawing the linework on top and then putting color on the bottom row instead of filling in everything. Please tell me if you notice any differences. I really wanted to stick with a white primary, but maybe I should’ve went with the usual.
