Someone needed a hug.  I needed a hug, and so I drew the hug that was needed.  I may or may not have tapped into personal experience when I made this.  

The desire to draw this was completely off the cuff, and I'm really pleased with the posing and composition.

And here's the final again. A challenging painting indeed, but then again I love group scenes. For the dancing poses, I did look up different kinds of folk dancing for inspiration. In the end, I mainly went with what looked good with the composition.
