if thats the case then id try using the lasso tool and snatch up the entire area and use a large brush with a single pass to block out the shadow then use the same tool to refine darker areas . it comes out with an interesting effect

Trying to improve my rendering process and I realized how much I was neglecting the overall form. I should be laying down general shadows and using selections to refine the shadow, not shade each muscle individually. VERY happy with how the newer one is coming together!!
