Quick note 'cause this is admittedly a bit visually confusing;
Cassidy's been holding her scisswords like this as a kind of "Back of the blade" thing. She'd normally hold the other side to Cut a Thing.
(It's still very dangerous to hit someone with either side of giant scissors)

I think you're confusing style and detail. Serialized, 2D animation has never been big on the detail side of things. The 90's DID see an increase in what LOOKED like detail, since computers streamlined the coloring process, but the cartoons were as simple as they always had been.

I’m playing through Persona 5 one more time before Royal comes out and I’ve started working towards fusing Trumpeter. Not only is it awesome to use in batte, but if you put it through the Electric Chair, it gives you the Debilitate skill card. A definite must-have!
