Two years ago I doodled these Fakemon 🤭
They’re based on animals living in Switzerland or Swiss folklore.
They don’t have any names yet (it’s some kind of fun project I started with a friend but we never really continued qoq).

That's the end of another epic 🐉

Today's theme has been Heroines and Heroes! From the reluctant to the very bold. Who would you emulate?

This is signing off, wishing you all a lore-filled week 🦹‍♂️⚔️🦄🌞🧅🏇🎯💃

Hi there! I'm Jackson, a streamer from the UK. I do video game content right now but want to do tabletop games and storytime streams in the future. I love being comfy and cosy, and I'd love to collect myths, folklore and fairy tales from around the world!

*Bonus: It may be impossible to ever know for sure but speaking of Puck, human's gradual observation of Darwin's tubercle &other congenital ear abnormalities throughout history very well may have been the basis for pointed ear tropes in stories of folklore, modern pop culture, etc.

Lāčplēsis is a folk hero in Latvia known as "The Bear Slayer." He could kill bears with his bare hands & was part bear himself. He died helping the Baltic gods fight off Christian crusaders & is immortalized in an epic poem that suggests he will return someday.

I had a lot of fun working on this painting. The Boogeyman who's inky form changes based on ones fears.

By accident the ten solar crows were all released and the heat was such the world was going to catch fire. The archer Hou Yi went out with nine arrows and killed nine of the ten: that is why their is one sun. Later, he would lose his great love Chang'e, the moon

In the Dagda a.k.a. Eochaidh Ollathair ("All-Father") wields a sentient harp named Uaithne. When stolen by the evil Fomorri, the Dagda tracks it down & summons it. The harp flies to its master, killing nine Fomorri. https://t.co/VGGRhRng4e

In variants of the ballad "The Outlandish Knight" Lady Isabel justifiably murders a vicious (sometimes magical) serial killer and a parrot helps her keep her vigilanty crime-fighting identity secret.

It's no hero's journey but it's good enough for me

In brazilian lore, Cobra-Norato was an enchanted giant snake that lived in a stretch of the Amazon River. Half-human, he always protected nearby villages from river beasts such as his twin sister, Maria Caninana. At night, he could take human form.
