A gentle introduction for children about the trade in wild animals, poaching and trophy hunting. It's not scary or preachy, it's a fun story that will create questions. https://t.co/9baYNgtIAj

Woah I love your art! I would say these 2 pieces helped me learn about the basics of landscape painting (and to not be afraid to do them!) I major in wildlife biology so animals are often the subject of my art; I also like learning about mythology of different cultures :)

The kingfisher is such a beautiful bird. I love its built in complementary colour scheme. Thank you Bob Barton for your amazing photo. Acrylic on canvas.

have three hearts and blue blood; they squirt ink to deter predators; and being boneless, they can squeeze into (or out of) tight spaces. They are quite intelligent and have been observed using tools.

I’ve decided when I hit 6k in followers I’ll do an art raffle, 1 winner will get a free portrait (pet, wildlife, OC doesn’t matter), 1 will get a speed painted sketch and 1 will get a sketch. 3 winners :) 🥰 all pets welcomed!

This striking red bird is the Vermilion Cardinal who can be found in Colombia and was featured on my map for BBC Wildlife Magazine a few years ago. I illustrated him as the icon for the Los Flamencos Flora and Fauna Sanctuary along with a couple of flami… https://t.co/2vb5Rl4iVC

One of the largest, smartest and most beautiful fish in the ocean, and sadly endangered along with the rest of sharks and rays nowadays. A true megafaunal gem that deserves admiration and protection!

Starting a series where I share my artistic influences.
starting with Rob Bateman, born in 1930 Bateman’s work is mostly acrylic paintings of the wildlife of British Columbia.
In my opinion his mastery of misty and atmospheric scenes is unparalleled
