Fun fact about Max's look: ever since I decided to redesign him I've tried to draw him with a lot more straight lines. This is both to contrast with Maya (who's pretty much nothing but curves) and just cause I find straight lines easier and more fun to use
@fundytoes pretty sure it’s because on his first volume cover horikoshi drew him with blue hair too. i somewhere read he did that to add contrast between his grey skin color and his hair … forgot where i read it tho
