I’ve often wondered about this. I think it’s simply because many folks, esp. in the US, don’t know about the old traditions of guising etc & just think of dressing up in a costume, rather than what type of guise was worn & just as importantly, why people wore costumes & masks etc

Basically a magical M-79 grenadier in an infantry platoon. The spellbombs can be enchanted with a variety of magical 'payloads,' esp. ones w/AoE, but are usually reserved for offensive spells after one too many incidents of the enemy getting buffed up instead of blown up. 1/2
