Paul Schrader's "First Reformed" is a chilling look at environmentalism & religion. It's a grim & oppressive film with some really stunning image compositions. The story is very original. This is Ethan Hawke's best performance. Brilliant. 9/10

Capturing the essence of the skin or character allows for such superior compositions. Perfect examples of how to use extra to enhance the overall essence.
