Thing that also keeps D&D from being as Mainstream is probably the fact that J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S.Lewis has inspired tons of Sword and Sorcery stories in the same vein as D&D.
Gobelin Slayer the anime is like a D&D campaign.

Before that is centuries of fantasy lore.

My tiefling for a D&D campaign. Her name is Qel’ra, and she’s a rogue. She’s also a bougie bitch.

speedpaint!
This lady is named Jerry. She’s an older character of mine that I think I’ll be adding to my campaign. She is assistant and bodyguard to a particular Sorcerer Blacksmith. She’s particularly skilled at fighting blind and unfortunately sleepy.

DMs, what NPC tricks have you used? I once had a wizard named Dlog in a campaign. He was actually a gold (name backwards) dragon in disguise. Once the players figured it out (months later) they started checking the name of every NPC in the campaign. Funny! Art: Todd Lockwood

9 - Swing - Rafe, another former initiative commando from our campaign. The victim of some experiments, as well as harboring a tad of demon possession - hence the personality swings.

Brothers - Other title "R'kall Dragonrider" My newest painting and Yria commission from my HoD campaign. For
Dragons are rare on Yria. those who tame and ride one always have a very deep connection to them. The title & their similiar markings reflects their bond.

Token set for some Snow Barbarian characters in my hubby's campaign. We have (in order) Fei, Aghun, Garron, and Chief Ungmak. These have been really relaxing and fun to mess around with.

(Mar. 20, 2019) Drew my Tiefling Bard character. I was originally supposed to use for a [now discontinued] D&D campaign and unfortunately life slapped me across the face at the wrong moment in time and was ultimately unable to use her for the intended campaign. Her name is Lupé.
