here are some of the sketches I did for this card! The brief called for the twins to be in a poster-like, dramatic pose, so I tried out quite a few options.

I wanted them to feel super close and comfortable around each other, and played around with overlap and symmetry.

After a while, Kitty began sleeping near the head of the skeleton while he was reading.
Papyrus apparently ignored him and did nothing when the cat's tail began to roll over his shoulder.
If he kept quiet on purpose, the skeleton never said. But clearly something changed.
