using word bubbles to guide the reader is a great tool. In your example I actually read it out of order the first time and tried to figure out why. I think the bubble in the middle causes a cross road where you have to "double back" to read the next bubble? Lettering is hard.

For me it was an aesthetic of mid-2000s web animation. I grew up loving series like Tankmen, Homestar Runner, Legendary Frog, etc. back in the days when Flash was king!!👑 I've been using Flash as an illustration tool for years, and even made my model within it!!

just doing this process in a fairly old version of paint tool sai is still pretty simple. it took a bit of manual coloring to close off some sections in order to fill each one.

this part takes a bit more fiddling with the settings depending on what software you are using. the fill tool can actually detect gaps really well in CSP in my experience and can speed up the coloring process.
