I don't watch a lot of magical girl stuff, one source that stands out to me is the manga Magic Knight Rayearth. It's more fantasy isekai magical girl but still.
I really enjoy how throughout the series the mcs outfit evolve in their journey to being heroes with their powers.

idk how good it is, but there's a Magic Knight Rayearth rpg (based on a manga by CLAMP) which was the last game released on the Saturn in the U.S. due to an extensive localisation process.
It was also directed by one of Sonic 1+2's designers, Reiko Komada.

Won Magical Knight Rayearth originally released in Japan in 1995 and translated in 1999. It was pretty good, could have been longer as it is short even by the standards when it was released as far as RPGs. Still, it was fun for what it was.
