The boulder animation in the Undercave actually shows the slope shadows clearing up as the boulder smashes the wall - it's impossible to see it fully in-game, as the camera follows the rolling boulder!
@IGN @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN Oscar Isaac can do no wrong. For him to even acknowledge MGS, let alone accept the role as Solid Snake is a huge win for video game adaption movies. Tying in the psychological horror with the technical stealth will be a slippery slope, but I think he can do it. I’m pumped!
With his kind of approach you can align decal features to the terrain. Here, I'm drawing strokes either along or across the slope. This kinda thing would be really hard to achieve with a standard tiling textures approach.

( .,.) heres more redesign magic on da 08th msteam magella. they armored da dumb cockpipt and made da neck profile look more rugged, so whole thing looks more solid. i take note on how they rendered da front armor slopes as beveled (2 lines) to look more metallic than plafstic

I like the clouds she painted and also how the foreground slope cuts across the landscape. The colours capture the coolness of early morning.
