i have to say, i really like sonic with long, curvy spines. if used well, they're a VERY powerful tool to accentuate the dynamism of a pose and really help guide the viewer's eyes throughout the piece.

My personal headcanon is that TLoS actually IS the continuation of it - that Malefor is the reincarnation of the Sorcerer. The characters had quite a few similarities (especially the tail, horns, and shoulder spines), and the whole 'purple magic' theme
