I absolutely love the brush stroke work in the Mario & Luigi RPG official art, so I'm hoping to get that feeling down with the final result. I think once I start doing albedo maps as well, it'll help strengthen the look

Hi Cathryn - the ADHD brain maps come up in a different "cluster" from the SCZ-BPD-MDD disorder group, with (age-dependent) basal ganglia/cortical surface area effects in ADHD but hippocampal/cortical thickness effects in the others. Also recently I’ve found that having physical inspiration helps esp as we can’t travel. Recently I bought vintage magazines and maps & it was much more inspiring than having seen them on screen.

The scales aren't present on his regular texture/albedo map but yes on his specular and normal maps. I love that they went through the trouble for something that is probably invisible in-game.
