As I mentioned, I don’t love the end result too much. The values are out of wack, and there isn’t a real sense of depth.

I also wanted to make this— it's way more about "noticing weaknesses and addressing them" vs "painting until it gets better" and I think that gets easily lost in a timelapse

I fix the same set of things in my stuff (flat, wack values, no focal point), everyone's will be diff

This exercise is great fun, and it teaches you a lot of about identifying the composition! I'm learning that if your composition is unclear, your painting will falter no matter the detail.

Why not. I have a good subject for comparison.
Aside from more obvious things (like poor Mary losing any hint of a chest), I notice I've gotten more comfortable using more contrasting values, while I used to be pretty anal about keeping values relatively close and even.
