It’s just more prominent/iconic for Goku (& Goten) because his hair shape. The messy hair for Goku specifically is very fitting given his personality

one of the biggest design hurdles was working around his anathema to animal byproducts like leather & sinew. his scroll case is made out of tree bark, heated with steam & pressed into shape. the inside is lined with oiled canvas for further waterproofing. (5/?)
