As an initial instinctive reaction the sun part reminds me of imagery which might be associated with expressionism. Like Edvard Munch's The Sun (1909), or Lyonel Feininger's Cathedral of Socialism (1919).

Courtyard of The Blue Monarchs, Vophirion Minster. The huge monarch butterflies are believed to be incarnations of the people who lost their lives during the destruction of the cathedral centuries ago before its reconstruction.
