Sooo, my takeaways:
-Don't make canvas size by pixels, otherwise I'll have to crop it down and post-crop zooming in looks gross
-Make differences in shadowed colors more noticeable
-Digital art makes drawing shiny leather AMAZINGLY EASY GOTDAM
