Self imposed challenge:
-one layer for the character (except the outline), BG is also its own layer
-only use round brush and smudge tool
-no referencing other better artists for painterly style

I did a heavy resprite of my demon lady (#halo for Pixel Dailies), threw that ugly cross in the thrash, tweaked the gradients, changed the bg colour and most importantly - worked on the outline (erased some of it).
Looks better and feels good to revisit 🔥🔥🔥

went back and manually edited out some outlines around the characters in page 56 that made them stand out from the background... it really bothered me when i was looking at this page for reference material while drawing 86.
