Palaeoloxodon namadicus, named by Falconer and Cautley, 1846. Or Asian straight-tusked elephant from India (where it was first discovered) to Japan. It also lived in Sri Lanka. Pleistocene epoch (extinct 24,000 years ago) and was 22-24 tons and an imposing (17-16 feet)

I would like to start a hashtag. We noticed yesterday on the stream that dicynodonts had potentially much better color vision than modern mammals, which opens the possibility to much more colorful "beaked-elephant-pigs".

Case closed. The Columbian mammoth of Primeval would actually be a Palaeoloxodon namadicus (straight tusked elephant). The Columbian's skull wasn't very bumpy and the bull's tusks were different too (the specimen in the episode is confirmed to be a bull). Artwork by RJ palmer.

The best Gilbert was the Gilbert from Impossible Elephant. He developed into a brave character when Lumpy the Elephant was in danger.

I liked the part when he got electrocuted and offered the ginger bully snake bite anecdote, though it was actually melted orange popsicle juice.
