"The phantom thieves are here!"
Happy activation day to this adorable Android and phantom thief Sophie/Sophia! Drew her a few months back and wanted to post, here's hoping that we get a localization for persona 5 scramble soon!
herrrrr
I wonder how the localization team will handle her English name...

@bergopolis One grizzled video game localization/writing veteran with two published books and a comic under her belt reporting in!
I have many ideas, I can write to order, and/or I think my current works would make for exciting film/TV.💪
@twumblunni A good example for the cover art / localization curse. While the japanese cover does not necessarily scream Monster Tamer it's definitely way more fitting to the overall aesthetic

Mr Love: Queen's Choice is a fascinating case of localization & licensing.
In SEA, it's called Mr Queen: Love's Choice but Love and Producer ~EVOL×LOVE~ in Japan.
Oh, and the hot boy on the bottom right is called Gavin in English but Haku in Japan.
Still a cool franchise.
gonna be real here, i thought "saucer stones" was just a localization fuck-up that happened in MR3, but ehhhh i guess i can cope
Those who dug in the files with #SoR4 Explorer might have found unused enemy palettes (notably Tora and Tetsu)
Well guess what
Surger was in the game in a near-finished state at some point but was removed for some reason, leaving only his name in the localization files.
I wonder if there were more cases like this:
When Polish-developed turn-based tactical RPG "Gorky 17" (aka Odium in the US) got released in Russia, it got a proper localization first, but just a month later it was published *again* in a "comedy" translation as "Gorky 18".
#4games I have worked on as a translator/localization director:
Root Double (2016)
Dies irae (2017)
Dies irae Interview with Kaziklu Bey (2019)
Raging Loop (2019)
And there's still more to come!
Started in-house game localization one year and nine months ago, but it feels like so much longer! Here are #4Games I worked on in that time.

No specific platform announcement yet, though they did say 'current-gen platforms'. Also, the website has an English language toggle so localization is pretty much confirmed as well
Just a week before our newest release goes live! Decided to experiment with localization staff promotion @kaitenbooks this time around. Hoping that this sort of thing catches on in the industry! 😁

I'm gonna play Irotoridori no Sekai after I finish Dies Irae.
I'll probably re-read when it comes out in Steam, but who knows when will that localization come out :c (I don't trust Sol Press honestly)
i'm bored and messing with Colors in an older pic
