To be honest, I'll rather have an MTL than a localization which inserts the localizer's politics. Both are bad, but I'd at least be willing to give the MTL a shot, localizations like these on the other hand are a reason to drop it and never look back:

FE had Senerio/Soren
PKM had Satoshi/Ash
DBZ had Tenshinhan/Tien
DGM had Taichi/Tai
RM EXE had Hikari Netto/Lan Hikari
