I’ve done some digital 3D work! I’ve personally been working in maya, it’s a bit of a learning curve but in terms of building things with polygons that stuffs pretty easy, sculpting is hard for me

This is some of my 3D stuff I did last semester :>

I was playing around with applying an AO map to a per-polygon displacement on a dense model. Polygons were "exploded" outward based on how close they are to a cavity in the base mesh. (Its colors were vertex painted in 3D Coat, then rendered in Max/V-ray.)

Ah gotcha:

So first you use ctrl+R to create a purple line across the box, then move it up, click to place it.
Then you select these new polygons.
Then, in Tools, find the Extrude tab and click on Region (Vertex Normals), and then you can extend these polygons.

Did some portrait study today. I know I have a lot to learn, but holy shi FeelsAmazingMan. No need to worry about polygons, over 9000 subtools, UVs and so on.

I think there are more fucking polygons in the horns than the rest of the whole body.

That's one of the four edge-to-edge tessellations of star polygons with regular polygons for which every vertex is of the same type and every corner of a tile is also a vertex of the tessellation.

Detoxing my brain from desperate fiddling about all those quads, vertexes and polygons 😂
