I think the biggest problem with the NSMBWii aesthetic is that they randomly decided ALL of the mushroom kingdom had to look the same. They rejected the idea of different areas having altered aesthetics, as seen in earlier and future titles.

A lot of their games are considered classics of the time, like MinDeaD Blood and Gore Screaming Show. Sadly they kind of fell off in the 2010s, with only a handful of games - the biggest one being Extravaganza -Mushigurui hen- , a sequel to one of their renowned classic titles.
