Felt the new colors were more true to the model's color palette. So I went with the softer tones.

Feeding from the rich flora of Hyrule Cutiefly started to take on a more softer rounder look than even its alolan counterpart. Their colors vary and depend on what flowers nectar they feed upon, Blue is the most popular of these colors.
I then go back over the softer clothes and feathers with a hard brush to lay some juicy details on top of the softer base. Once the details are well described, I begin laying in the warm overhead light source of the cabin.

Trying a softer approach as opposed to the usual bold, painterly style. Except now I cut the time in half for challenge.
Incorporating the line art (very important for softer looking emotes)
Taking the airbrush on a clipped normal layer, I apply a reddish color (depending on the piece) to the areas hit by the light or around the face.
Then taking a clipped glow dodge layer to add the first shinies.
I finally read the dakaichi manga in english and oop. I've been recommending the series to everyone because the anime is a little softer, but their first time in the manga is tough. Sorry for not including a trigger warning to anyone who i suggested it to! I'm still a fan but ;u;
i'm obsessed w this softer shading that i'm going for, i used to sketch with the bit husky brush all the time but once i forgot i was sketching with the airbrush this pretty thing came out look at the differences hehe
