I'm thinking that one reason the Pirate Guilds are so effective is that their ships can fly (or rather, levitate, they'd still be propelled by sail.) This is thanks to them being smaller vessels than ships-of-the-line & an experimental magic system.⬇️

Dino Fact!

Kryptops (Covered Face) is an abelisaurid from Early Cretaceous Africa! Its skull had traces of blood vessels on it, implying something was attached to its face, likely a covering of keratin, a material found in other structures in animals like horns!
