I'd probably say the CAPCOM games of the mid to late 90s. Particularly Mega Man 8, Mega Man Legends, Street Fighter Alpha and Rival School. The dynamic poses, exaggerated proportions, bold colors, that's what I still love about thier art from back then. Nothing but inspiration.

i did a redesign of ilulu / iruru (ive seen both) for fun using the information ive gathered about her (shes bad at shapeshifting so she ends up disproportionate)

If you struggle with face perspective for your characters get yourself a free program like Sculptris and make your goddamn life easier. The sculpture doesn't have to be perfect, it can be terrible like mine but the point is it has the basic features and proportions of the face!
