They are created in darkness through a unique photographic process. The camera's shutter is left open while high powered flashlights attached to plexiglass and plastic tubes with different colored gels are moved to form the light streaks.

ASW ops east of Davao went well w/few rough spots, but follow-up vs enemy CV task force led to tough, messy battles w/lack of air superiority. Somehow eked a win, rescued Akishimo in the process. Now the final leg of the campaign--return to Ironbottom Sound.
