I have been reflecting on my art lately and I feel restricted with my current art style so I changed it ~ I’m actually more happy in this art style and excited on what art I can make with it ^w^ also experimenting different brushes and textures is fun!
Experimental drawing of Waluigi before bed, dabbling back into the texture brush for inking and colouring. Feels good to not use the stabiliser like I normally do with the flat, textureless inking brush I use. More freedom to crosshatch potentially too and add more texture!
I wish making tf2 items was as "copy-and-paste" as people thought, I had to completely recreate the soldier by hand including a low poly face and hand-painted face texture😅
There’s some very minor things with the brush I might wanna try to tweak, but overall I think this came out ok! The brush has a good mix of grit and texture, while still playing nice with some digital-specific stuff I use in my typical workflow :D
This is rigged, I tell ya. RIGGED!

My current process for painting tree trunks
1. Block out the shape
2. Block out the shadows
3. Soften the shadows a lil and add more color. Add light poking through the leaves
4. Use a textured brush paired with a pencil to add detail. Create an Add (Glow) layer for highlights
