Used a total mish-mash of different pencils for my second miniature of a Roller. This one was tricky and it took me an age to get the eye right, but I feel like it’s my best ever Roller and has the right kinda ‘jizz’. Finally I think I did this bird justice.

ran into problems that would require tricky solutions in rigging the original (right) for animation. So in redesigning I thought about what would be easiest to rig given a normal humanoid skeleton for animation!

i have now gained a keener awareness of the varying degrees of detail that goes into Chris' beautiful eyelashes

one issue i ran into is that when you place a 2d image into a 3d map it becomes really tricky to do long eyelashes since they will bend sharply at certain points
