Roderic O'Conor (1860-1940) Romeo and Juliet (n.d.). The Roscommon native spent most of his life in France and became a truly international painter of the first rank. This piece is now coming out of a collection, and is set to sell for an estimate of half-a-million euro

Roderic O'Conor (1860-1940) The Glade (1892). An example of O'Conor's best work, this picture was executed while he was at the artist colony at Pont Aven in Brittany. Founded by Paul Gauguin the experimental 'school' moved away from the Naturalist style of the 19th century.
