It was a really smart move for Universal to buy DreamWorks Animation. There was an eleven year gap between two theatrical animated Universal films, which are 1995’s Balto and 2006’s Curious George.

Now Universal has more animated films in their library, including Shrek.

For all its faults I’d love them to for at least three more films, possibly four, but I see nothing wrong with Toho starting their proposed World of Godzilla anyway while still allowing for anime and other original stories to be told.
