I had a ton of fun watching the Yakuza 0 streams and wanted to make something to celebrate beating it! I'm super stoked to see you play through Kiwami, too! ᐛ

said 2021 for that one oops

-

Yakuza Kiwami (12/26/21-1/15/22) - 7.6ish/10

0 is much better, but Kiwami is still a solid game.

combat feels a little worse

I like the bond between Kiryu and Haruka

beginning & ending is great, but the middle feels like a bit too much fluff.

do you ever tell yourself you’re gonna draw kiryu in one of the mesuking costumes for a bit but it ends up looking really nice so its not a bit anymore

When one of my favorite old Japanese grump wrestlers have their face and moveset hidden in the No Mercy Rom, made a cameo in Yakuza Kiwami 2, and had a character by Suda 51 based on them, well I had to add them in Project Outsider

Pinned Tweet: Updated Dec 21, 2021
- Currently playing: Toukiden Kiwami (PS4/PS5/Vita/PC). PC ver. locked at 30fps.
- This is the "iceborne" like release for the 1st game. Toukiden 2 is the latest but more open world structure, i'll try it later.
- God Eater after Toukiden series

This month's longplay will be happening on the 25th.
And it's very appropriately themed! Kiwami full story on one stream. Hopefully all of Majima Everywhere as well, but sanity check will be enabled on my brain.
Kiryu "Clausuma" is coming to Kamurocho.

I can confidently recommend Toukiden Kiwami to MH fans, especially of the older games like MHGU. It feels familiar but fresh, doesn’t require a masters degree/interest in Japanese history to enjoy, great action, comfy. Kiwami is the G rank release of Age of Demons I think.
