Ok. I need a break from making requests. I’m honestly tempted to return into paleoart(Eotyrannus, I’m looking at you). So here’s the most recent request I made. Not really complicated. But it still was helpful for practice.

The fossilized skeletons of pterosaurs - which look quite different from any extant flying vertebrate - baffled many early palaeontologists. One early theory suggested that pterosaurs were flying marsupials.

New at Patreon: an essay about Charles R Knight, palaeoartist extraordinaire, and the shoes I have to fill with Life through the Ages II. No pressure there, then. here shows Yutyrannus in a composition directly lifted from Knight. https://t.co/wpm54R5n9n

Apart from my regular reconstructions I am planning to include a lot of my sketches in my upcoming book. I’m trying to pack it as full of images as possible. I’ve always liked the look of sketches, regardless if they represent unfinished ideas

Spending this working on the last few pages of text for LTTAII, including the last page describing a scene of fossil animals. This honour goes to a Silurian marine scene that which I painted for 's thesis. Agnathans and early gnathostomes FTW!

A Validis and its chick resting in the sun.
The several months old chick spends every free minute playing. Thus it learns to climb, jump, and fight.
Imagine the equivalent of goats ;)

In case you didn't know: Myotragus is a weird, short faced goat from Mallorca, with forward facing eyes, giving it a slightly human face. I was never more scared of my own drawing.
