Mayu was one of my first models I've made, while Genbu is my latest model.
I was playing around with applying an AO map to a per-polygon displacement on a dense model. Polygons were "exploded" outward based on how close they are to a cavity in the base mesh. (Its colors were vertex painted in 3D Coat, then rendered in Max/V-ray.)
