No. 990 Clodsire is so great. It is the stupidest looking thing of all time. I love it so much. Doubling down on the goofy dopeyness of Quagsire, and then adding the that it forces its ribs out of its back is a great contrast. I do prefer Quagsire though, if only just a little.

Weirdly, I tried reading it once as a kid and just didn't connect with it. I guess it wasn't Star Trek enough for my young Trekkie obsessed self. I remember the image of the tree ships being a little confusing for me at the time.
