Another comfy saturday painting from RAGE 2. Ended up using really large messy brushes at first and then progressively sharper and less textured brushes, and working fairly zoomed out the whole time. I think the painting came out better for it, satisfying detail up close :o

Went from a sketch I wasn't a fan of to a pic I'm actually quite happy with. I tried out a sharper shading method that I think works pretty well. Also corrected some of the proportions in post, because that's what you're supposed to do, right?

3. SOFTER/SHARPER LINES
Duplicate your lineart layer and clip it over your colours layer (or not). Blur it a little, then overlay it. Dark lines will make your lines glow/be softer, and white lines will makes it sharper!

@karen_doggi For the black hair, try to make it more blue and not completely grey, it makes it look bland. Also, you can add more definition to the hair by making the shading of the hair a bit sharper at the end and blend your way down then add more shadows that go on the edge of each strand-
