I love how a year ago people were shitting on Sisu's concept art design saying it wasn't good, but now after seeing what she looks like in the movie, people are suddenly saying her old design was good.

The face was still an issue before not gonna lie.

I’m really really excited for Raya and the Last Dragon, but Sisu’s design is not really my favourite. Kinda looks like Elsa as a dragon, so I decided to redesign her! Added the actual pictures of her for comparison, I just wanted to make her a bit less, Elsa looking??

i hope folks don't mind me taking a crack at redesigning this gal to better suit her supposed southeast asian inspirations. thai dragon sculptures in particular inspired my take on sisu, between the more pronounced horns and presence of jewelry!

it’s sad how they neutered sisu’s original design, but seeing people talk about how she looks like she was designed almost specifically to make merch off of... yeah that tracks. would have been much more difficult to make figures and plushies with all those colors and frills

my personal opinion on sisu's design is. shes safe
like there was nothing experimental done to her its like. jus a disney dragon
couldve used more south east asian style and experimentation, it jus seems so. obviously palatable for westerners lol
