Up till now, I've been using an inverse-hull method for the toon outlines. This is expensive. What I'm trying now is to just Floor a VdotN and then offset the verts it masks.
1/ For context, I didn't go to art school. Way too expensive, though in hindsight, I probably should've. In high school, I was probably one of three people I knew who drew anime characters. Middle of nowhere in Georgia, early 2000s. Not a badge of honor, I was just ignorant.

For a lot of pieces, I tend to work very zoomed out and try to use as few brushstrokes as possible. The more "expensive" an illustration is, the more time I spend detailing and cleaning up.
