day 2, I was having a hard time thinking of a folktale with a sleep element, aside from Snow White & Sleeping Beauty. Finally settled on Princess and the Pea. Proud that I stayed away from animal interpretations and drew people! LoL

Happy Folktale week!

This piece was inspired by Finnish lore. The aurora borealis was described as a fox running so fast across the snow that it created flames in the sky. They called this phenomenon “revontulet” or “fox fires.”
