"Somewhere long ago, in a shady forest pool or a high mountain lake, a woman hovered her palm flat above the water’s surface. Whether this was so she could to meet her twin in the water’s reflection or perhaps just touch..." https://t.co/y17swpr6nN

“Strangely familiar.”
Ratcatcher’s memories start to resurface.

Back again with more redraws of Old Cave Story OCs, this time it's the villains. First up is their leader, a Mimiga who stuck a shard of the shattered red crystal into his forehead and gained powers from it, and he plans on taking over the surface.

HOMUNCULUS is a lovely comic, isn’t it? Just exceptionally clever, profoundly endearing and sweet, with a whole lot of emotion hiding underneath its surface. It’s probably one of ShortBox’s best releases, which, given such an impressive catalogue, obviously means a LOT.

245 Kaiju Level30 Detton

A subterranean monster that lives in a layer relatively close to the surface. The brother of the Telesdon.
His temper is rough, and his power is said to rival that of the 2500 bulldozers.

MEMBER OF THE WEEK is SOUHEIR RAWLINGS. "I strive to show a more emotive portrayal of my models/subjects and hope to connect the art with the viewer on a more personal level. I search to share beauty that might be a bit more hidden beneath the surface."

One day, a long time ago, Shipsgrave coal miners refused to return to the surface. Some of their families moved into the mine too, to live there with them. No one has seen them since then, but as long as the townsfolk send down the supplies, they keep getting back the coal.

夢の中で見たもの
The World I'd seen in my dreams yesterday.

A region in this world: A vast ocean that spans as far as the horizon. Gigantic sakura trees that touch the seafloor and reach far above. In the ocean, it snows from underneath and springs toward the surface.

When it gets dark, the light from its bright, shiny tail can be seen from far away on the ocean's surface.

Working on the Persephone SF movie project. Scene 3 rough sketch showing basic maneuvers for fast emergency descent from synchronous orbit down to the planet surface. Also some other examples of eyeball-engineered orbital mechanics sequences for possible scenes. Fun stuff!

Here's a remake of one of my first drawings on my Surface. The Poltrunice! Still so proud of those names. These are domesticated ancestors of a wyvern. Their lumps, meat, and poison are their main products.

I've saved three more times, I don't trust it.

ANYWAY. The first thing to do is getting the reshaping and planes sorting out which makes it an awful lot easier to figure out where things are going and to block out each surface. It doesn't need to look good, just functional.

I love how she gradually accepted her transformation as a wonderful thing. It allowed her to be the beautiful powerful woman she was inside she couldn’t bring to the surface.

Way more positive than the thing we have in comics recently.

Yesterday’s chapter was a dramatic one in many ways. A war intensifies between guilds on the island’s surface. Underground, undead prisoners fight for their freedom. And the rivalry between the lascivious devil and the prudish elf reaches its peak.

Textile & print speak to one another. This photo of embroidered curtain from Frances's design for fellow designer Fritz Waerndorfer shows how the threaded lines of embroidery echo lines printed on paper, both sculpturally rise from the surface.

A VERY ROUGH test sketch. I tried using my tablet in "non screen mode" as if it were a standard drawing surface. Muscle memory still exists! Sorta.

"It's a cute continuation of the series and will help kids see that there's more to life than just what you see on the surface. Compassion and understanding will always bring..."

Orbular Cities!
Inspired by surface tension of water when swimmers are about to emerge from the surface. Love those speculars!
