Outer lining (Optional)
At this point you can group all your layers, make a duplicate and merge the second group so that you have a back up.
With the merged layer you can liquify any mistakes and add an optional outline to make your emote more visible when small.
Shading
Now the fun part.
Lock each layers transparency and begin shading with a soft round brush to create a darker gradient from the bottom of each layer. Then with a hard round brush fill in the shadows. DO NOT over do the gradient.
Add highlights where needed. And done.

Tried clip studio paint for the first time!! Messed up on the lineart and color layers so i couldnt properly detail it. still nice tho, but it could be better!

A plein air pastel sketch on the River Stour for day 12 of #drawingaugust. I used ingres paper for this which I haven't used before. I quite liked it for sketching although I missed being able to add lots of layers like on sanded paper.
