Entry for the Clip studio international art contest, not exactly how I wanted it to be, as I came into the contest a bit late, but overall there's a few things that came out quite nicely.
I used both Paint tool Sai and Clip studio Paint.

For me, I start by sketching an outline on a separate layer. Then I paint using other layers (1 layer for skin, 1 for hair in front, 1 for tentacles, etc.).

If I need to refine edges, I use the eraser tool.

Basically, I'm painting the picture, not drawing it.

The line art is done with a pen-tool. No photo for this one, it was freehand, but the technique is the same, clean graphic lines and fill. If you use a half-transparency layer mask you can produce some very cool stuff with it

Long story short, the Z-depth pass is not precise enough to let the indirect lighting tool properly figure out the proper geometry of the scene, so I'll have to render a proper indirect pass and upscale it.
