Purple witch’s butter or Ascocoryne sarcoides that I found growing on the chopped up aerial root of ivy under an old Apple tree. Bright purple Jelly fungus well that’s new to me even though it’s described as common!

It’s the time of year when mushrooms and toadstools are popping up in unexpected places and then suddenly vanishing again. I found these blackening wax caps growing right outside the house and the damp grass.
