Hey gang...in order to cash in on the smash success of the 60s tv show, the original 15-chapter serial from 1943 was recut into a feature-length film. I was lucky enough to see that (to my 8-year old mind) incredible bit of cinema in a theater at the time!

A lieutenant during WWI who was 71 during WWII, Hruby was an academic and symbolist painter who picked up the art nouveau style and is well-known for his depictions of the typical “sinister fin-de-siècle woman.”
